User segmentation in BeyondCart allows you to categorize and target specific groups of users based on their behavior, attributes, and engagement levels. This powerful feature enables you to create personalized marketing campaigns, send relevant push notifications, and enhance customer experience by tailoring interactions to each user group.

By default, BeyondCart comes with pre-set segments based on user registration and contact information. However, you can also create custom segments to meet your specific marketing needs.

Default Segmentation

When you install BeyondCart, the following default segments are automatically created to simplify initial targeting and communication:

  • Registered Users - Phone Numbers: Users who have registered accounts with phone numbers.

  • Guests - Phone Numbers: Guest users (not registered) with phone numbers.

  • All Users - Phone Numbers: All users, both registered and guests, with phone numbers.

  • Registered Users - Emails: Users who have registered accounts with email addresses.

  • Guests - Emails: Guest users with email addresses.

  • All Users - Emails: All users, both registered and guests, with email addresses.

  • Registered Users - Player IDs: Registered users with unique Player IDs, which can be used for personalized app notifications.

  • Guests - Player IDs: Guest users with Player IDs.

  • All Users - Player IDs: All users, including both registered and guests, with Player IDs.

These default segments make it easy to reach specific user groups with targeted messages, whether they’re registered users or guests, and regardless of their preferred contact method.

Creating Custom Segments

In addition to the default segments, BeyondCart offers flexible tools to create your own custom segments based on various user actions, attributes, and engagement rules. Here’s how you can create a custom segment:

  1. Go to the BeyondCart app in the left sidebar and select Segments.

  2. Click Add Segment to start creating a new user segment.

  3. Enter a descriptive name for your segment in the Segment name field to make it easy to identify later.

  4. In the Target field, specify which identifier (e.g., Player IDs/Phine Number/Emails) you want to use to send notifications to the segment.

  5. Set Rules and Conditions:

    • Use the Show me users section to set up your segmentation criteria.

    • Click Add Group to add a set of rules. For each rule, you can:

      • Choose an action (e.g., user activity, purchase behavior).

      • Choose a condition (e.g., specific product viewed, item added to cart).

      • Enter a value to complete the condition (e.g., product ID or category).

    • Combine multiple rules within a group using AND (all conditions must be met) or OR (any condition can be met) to create more specific or broader segments.

  6. If needed, click Add new group to include additional sets of rules. This allows you to create advanced segments with multiple conditions.

  7. After setting up your rules, click Save to create your segment. BeyondCart will start identifying users who match your specified conditions.
