Getting Started

Overview

Installing BeyondCart takes just a few minutes. The app is available on the Shopify App Store, and the installation process follows Shopify's standard OAuth flow — meaning you'll grant the necessary permissions, and BeyondCart will sync with your store automatically.

This guide walks you through every step from finding the app to landing on the plan selection screen.

Prerequisites

  • An active Shopify store (any plan: Basic, Shopify, Advanced, or Plus)

  • Store owner or staff account with permission to install apps

  • A web browser logged in to your Shopify admin

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Find BeyondCart on the Shopify App Store

Open the Shopify App Store and search for BeyondCart, or navigate directly to the BeyondCart listing page. You can also find the app by browsing the "Mobile app builder" category.

Step 2: Click "Install" (or "Add app")

On the BeyondCart listing page, click the Install button. If you're not already logged in to your Shopify store, you'll be prompted to enter your store URL (e.g., your-store.myshopify.com) and sign in.

Step 3: Review and Grant Permissions

Shopify will display a permissions screen showing what BeyondCart needs access to in order to function. These permissions typically include:

  • Products — to display your catalog in the mobile app

  • Orders — to show order history and enable order management

  • Customers — to support customer segments and personalization

  • Store content — to sync pages, collections, and navigation

  • Online store — to integrate with your existing storefront data

Review the list and click Install app to authorize BeyondCart.

Step 4: Initial Sync

After granting permissions, BeyondCart performs a lightweight sync of your store data. This process runs in the background and typically completes in under a minute for most stores. During this sync, BeyondCart pulls in your:

  • Product catalog and variants

  • Collections

  • Basic store settings and branding

You don't need to wait or do anything — the sync happens automatically.

Step 5: Redirect to Plan Selection

Once the sync is complete, you'll be automatically redirected to the plan selection screen inside the BeyondCart admin (embedded within your Shopify dashboard). This is where you'll choose the plan that fits your business.

You're now ready to choose a plan and start your free trial. See Choosing a Plan for the next step.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Make sure you have install permissions. If you're a staff member rather than the store owner, confirm with your admin that your account has the "Install and uninstall apps" permission.

  • Don't worry about the data sync. BeyondCart's initial sync is lightweight and won't affect your store's performance. Ongoing syncs happen automatically in the background.

  • Check your Shopify plan. BeyondCart works with all Shopify plans, but certain advanced features may be better suited to Shopify Plus stores. You can always upgrade your Shopify plan later.

FAQ

Is BeyondCart free to install? Installing BeyondCart is free. You'll choose a paid plan (with a 1-month free trial) after installation, but no charges are applied during the install step.

What permissions does BeyondCart need, and why? BeyondCart requests access to products, orders, customers, and store content so it can display your catalog, manage orders, personalize the experience, and keep your app in sync with your Shopify store. These are standard permissions for mobile app builders.

Will installing BeyondCart affect my live store? No. Installing BeyondCart has no impact on your online store's performance or appearance. The app operates independently alongside your existing storefront.

Can I install BeyondCart on multiple stores? Yes. Each Shopify store requires its own separate installation and subscription. Simply repeat the installation process for each store.

What happens if I uninstall BeyondCart? Uninstalling removes BeyondCart's access to your store data and cancels your subscription. Your published mobile app would stop functioning. You can reinstall at any time, but you'll need to go through setup again.
