Overview
This guide walks you through building your collection hierarchy—adding root collections, nesting children, bulk-adding multiple collections, reordering, and removing items.
Step-by-Step
Adding a Root Collection
Open the Collections Builder from the sidebar.
In the hierarchy tree (left panel), click Add Collection.
A picker appears showing your Shopify collections. Select the one you want.
The collection is added as a root-level item in the tree.

Adding Child Collections
Hover over a parent collection in the hierarchy tree.
Click the + icon that appears next to it.
Select a Shopify collection from the picker.
The new collection appears nested under the parent.
Repeat to build as many levels as you need. There is no nesting limit.
Bulk Adding Collections
Click the Bulk Add button at the top of the hierarchy tree.
A modal opens with a searchable list of your Shopify collections.
Check the boxes next to every collection you want to add.
Choose whether to add them as root items or as children of a selected parent.
Click Add Selected to insert them all at once.

Reordering Collections
Drag and drop any collection in the hierarchy tree to change its position. You can move it up or down within the same level, drag it onto another collection to nest it as a child, or drag it out of a parent to promote it. The phone preview updates in real time.
Deleting a Collection
Select the collection in the hierarchy tree.
Click the Delete icon or press Delete.
Confirm the removal.
Deleting a parent promotes its children up one level automatically.
Checking for Inactive Collections
Click Check for Inactive in the toolbar.
The builder scans your hierarchy against your live Shopify collections.
Inactive collections are highlighted. Remove or replace them as needed.

Bulk Add modal: Add many collections at once instead of one at a time.

Check for Inactive: Identifies collections that were removed from Shopify.
Tips
Use Bulk Add when setting up a new category with many subcollections.
Run Check for Inactive after major Shopify catalog changes to keep your app clean.
Deleting a parent promotes its children, so review the result after deletion.
FAQ
Is there a limit to how many collections I can add? No hard limit. Add as many as your catalog requires.
Can I undo a deletion? There is no undo, but you can re-add the collection from the picker at any time.
