Module: Media Library Audience: Store admins Last updated: March 2026
Overview
The Media Library is your centralized hub for all images and videos used across your BeyondCart mobile app. Instead of uploading the same file multiple times in different places, you upload it once to the Media Library and reuse it wherever you need it—in the template builder, collections, navigation icons, gamification features, campaigns, and flows.
How It Works
The Media Library stores your uploaded files and automatically generates optimized thumbnails for fast browsing. When you upload an image, a 300x300 WebP thumbnail is created so the library grid loads quickly even with hundreds of assets.
Original files are preserved at full resolution. When a component uses an image from the library, it references the original file, not the thumbnail.

Where the Media Library Is Used
The Media Library connects to every part of BeyondCart that uses media:
Template Builder — Banners, image blocks, background images, and any visual component.
Collections Builder — Custom collection images.
Navigation Manager — Custom SVG icons.
Gamification — Prize images, game assets, and promotional graphics.
Campaigns — Images for push notifications and in-app messages.
Flows — Media used in automated message sequences.
Anywhere you see an image picker in BeyondCart, the Media Library is available.
The Picker Modal
When you need to select an image in any module, a WordPress-style picker modal opens with two tabs:
Media Library tab: Browse and search your existing uploads. Click a thumbnail to select it.
Upload New tab: Upload a new file directly from the picker. It's added to the library and selected in one step.
This means you never have to leave your current workflow to upload or find media.

Key Concepts
Media Library: Centralized storage for all images and videos in your BeyondCart app.
WebP thumbnail: An automatically generated 300x300 preview image in WebP format for fast grid loading.
Picker modal: The popup that appears whenever you need to select media, with tabs for browsing existing files and uploading new ones.
Reusable assets: Upload once, use in any module. Changes to the original are reflected everywhere it's referenced.
Tips
Upload high-quality originals—BeyondCart handles optimization and thumbnail generation for you.
Use descriptive file names before uploading. Searching "summer-banner-2026.jpg" is much easier than "IMG_4392.jpg."
Periodically review your library and remove unused files to keep things organized.
FAQ
What file formats are supported? Common image formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG) and video formats are supported. Check the upload dialog for the full list.
Is there a file size limit? Yes. The maximum file size depends on your plan. The upload dialog will notify you if a file exceeds the limit.
Are thumbnails the only size generated? The 300x300 WebP thumbnail is generated for library browsing. The original file is used when displaying media in the app.
Can I replace a file without changing all the references? If you upload a new version with the same name, it creates a new file. To update references, you'd need to re-select the new file in each location.
