Meta tags in BeyondCart allow you to assign additional attributes or labels to users, enabling more refined segmentation and personalized communication. By creating and utilizing meta tags, you can better understand and engage specific user groups, tailor your marketing campaigns, and improve customer targeting.

For example, you could use meta tags to track customers’ preferences, behaviors, or even loyalty status, which can then be used to trigger personalized campaigns or segment users more effectively.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. In the left sidebar, go to CRM and select Segments.

  2. Click on Meta Tags to access the Meta Tags management page.

  3. On the Meta Tags page, click Add Meta Tag. This will open the Add Meta Tag form, where you can define the key details for your meta tag.

  4. In the Key field, enter a unique name for the meta tag. This key should clearly represent the purpose of the tag (e.g., "VIP_Customer," "Newsletter_Subscriber," or "High_Spender"). The key is a required field, and it will serve as the identifier for the meta tag.

  5. Use the Description field to add any additional context or notes about the meta tag. This is optional but can be helpful for keeping track of the tag’s purpose, especially when managing multiple tags.

  6. Once you’ve filled out the Key and, optionally, the Description, click Save. The new meta tag will now appear in the Meta Tags list, ready to be used for segmentation or tracking.

Using Meta Tags

Once created, meta tags can be applied to users and used to enhance your segmentation and marketing strategies. Here are a few ways you can use meta tags:

  • Custom Segmentation: Apply meta tags to users for advanced segmentation. For example, tag users who have made multiple purchases as "Loyal_Customer" and create a segment to send exclusive offers to these users.

  • Targeted Campaigns: Use meta tags in your campaign setup to target specific groups. For example, if you have a "VIP_Customer" tag, you can create a campaign exclusively for VIP customers.

  • User Insights: Meta tags provide insights into user behavior and preferences, allowing you to analyze trends within certain groups. For instance, tracking users tagged as "Newsletter_Subscriber" helps assess the impact of email campaigns on engagement and purchases.
