Overview

The Yotpo Reviews integration brings your Yotpo product reviews into your BeyondCart mobile app. Star ratings, review titles, and review bodies are rendered natively in the app, and customers can submit a new review without leaving the product page.

  • Let customers leave a review in-app — taps a button on the product page, fills out star + title + body, submits straight to Yotpo.

  • Reuse your existing review collection — Yotpo email flows, post-purchase requests, and SMS prompts continue working as configured.

Prerequisites

  • A Yotpo account with the Reviews product enabled.

  • Yotpo connected to your Shopify store with reviews already collected.

  • Admin access to your BeyondCart dashboard.

Setup instructions

1. Get your Yotpo App Key

  1. Log in to your Yotpo dashboard at https://app.yotpo.com.

  2. Open Account Settings → Store Settings → Yotpo Settings.

  3. Copy the App Key (also called the public key). It looks like a 30-character alphanumeric string.

The App Key is public-safe — it is embedded into the URL of every Yotpo widget request — so you do not need to treat it like a private API token.

2. Paste the App Key into BeyondCart

  1. Open your BeyondCart admin dashboard.

  2. Go to Site Settings → Integrations.

  3. Find the Yotpo Reviews section.

  4. Paste the App Key into the Yotpo App Key field.

  5. Click Save.

What customers see in the app

  • A rating summary at the top of the product page (average star count + total review count).

  • A list of recent reviews further down with the reviewer's display name, title, body, and rating.

  • A Write a review button that opens an in-app form. The customer enters their rating, title, and review text and submits — the review goes straight to Yotpo where you can moderate it like any other review.

Tips and best practices

  • Make sure the product is mapped in Yotpo. Yotpo identifies products by your Shopify product ID. If reviews don't appear, confirm Yotpo has the product synced.

  • Use Yotpo's moderation queue. New reviews submitted from the app land in the same moderation flow as web reviews. Approve or reject them in the Yotpo dashboard.

  • Pick one review provider. Running Yotpo alongside Judge.me, Fera, Okendo, or Loox for the same products produces conflicting review counts.

Troubleshooting

No reviews appear even though Yotpo has them. Confirm the App Key is correct and that the product has at least one approved review in Yotpo. Reviews still in moderation will not appear.

The "Write a review" button doesn't work. Verify the App Key in BeyondCart matches the App Key in Yotpo exactly — Yotpo will silently reject submissions with a wrong key.

Star rating count is different from the Yotpo widget on my web store. The mobile app uses the same bottomline aggregate Yotpo serves to web widgets. Differences usually mean a few minutes of caching delay — check again in 5–10 minutes.
