Overview

This guide walks you through every step of building a push notification campaign in BeyondCart, from naming it to sending or scheduling delivery.

Before You Start

Make sure you have at least one push notification subscriber. You can check your subscriber count on the main dashboard under the Push Notification Metrics panel.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Start a New Campaign

Navigate to Campaigns in the sidebar and click the Create Campaign button in the top-right corner. A new campaign editor opens.

Step 2: Enter a Campaign Name

Type a descriptive name in the Campaign Name field. This name is internal only—your users will not see it. Use something that helps you identify the campaign later, such as "Spring Sale 2026" or "New Arrivals March."

Step 3: Write the Notification Title

Enter the text that appears as the bold headline on the user's device. Keep it short and attention-grabbing—aim for under 50 characters so it displays fully on all devices.

Example: "Spring Sale — Up to 40% Off"

Step 4: Write the Notification Message

Add the supporting message body below the title. This is where you provide a bit more detail or a call to action. Aim for one to two concise sentences.

Example: "Shop new markdowns on your favorite styles. Ends Sunday."

Step 5: Upload an Image

Click the image upload area to add a rich media image that appears with your notification. The recommended size is 1024 × 512 pixels in JPEG or PNG format. Images make notifications more eye-catching and can significantly improve open rates.

Step 6: Set the Button Text

Enter the button label that appears as the tappable action on the notification. Common choices include "Shop Now," "View Collection," "Get the Deal," or "Learn More."

Step 7: Configure the Deep Link

Choose where the user lands when they tap the notification. Select a deep link target from the dropdown and provide any required details. See the Deep Links article for a full list of available targets.

Example: Select "Collection" and choose your "Spring Sale" collection.

Step 8: Select Target Segments

Under the Include Segments section, choose one or more audience segments. Users who belong to at least one selected segment will receive the notification.

If you do not select any segments, the campaign targets all subscribers by default.

Step 9: Exclude Segments (Optional)

Under the Exclude Segments section, optionally select segments whose members should not receive this campaign. Any user who belongs to an excluded segment is removed from the audience, even if they also belong to an included segment.

Step 10: Review and Send

Review the campaign summary panel on the right side of the editor. Confirm the title, message, image, deep link, and audience size all look correct.

You have three options:

Send Now — Delivers the campaign immediately to the targeted audience.

Schedule — Sets a future date and time for automatic delivery. See Scheduling Campaigns for details.

Save as Draft — Saves your work without sending. You can return to edit and send it later.

Tips for Effective Campaigns

  • Personalise the title when possible—specific beats generic.

  • Test your campaign on a real device before sending to your full audience. See Test Notifications.

  • Use images that are clear and legible at small sizes.

  • Time your sends for when your audience is most active (check session data in your dashboard).
