Overview

The Sessions page shows a list of all app sessions recorded by the BeyondCart mobile app. Each session represents a single visit — from when a customer opens the app to when they leave. Session details include activities performed, analytics events, and wishlist interactions.

Accessing the Sessions List

  1. In your BeyondCart admin panel, navigate to Data > Sessions.

  2. The sessions list displays all recorded sessions, sorted by most recent.

What You'll See

Each session row includes:

  • Customer — The name of the customer (or "Anonymous" for guest sessions).

  • Session Start — When the session began.

  • Session Duration — How long the session lasted.

  • Activities — The number of distinct actions recorded during the session.

  • Platform — iOS or Android.

Viewing Session Details

Click any session to open its detail page. The session detail includes:

Activities

A chronological list of everything the customer did during the session:

  • Pages Viewed — Which screens the customer navigated to.

  • Products Viewed — Specific products the customer looked at.

  • Add-to-Cart Events — Products added to the cart during this session.

  • Search Queries — What the customer searched for.

  • Checkout Started — Whether the customer began the checkout flow.

Analytics

Aggregated metrics for the session:

  • Total Page Views — The number of screens visited.

  • Products Browsed — Count of unique products viewed.

  • Time on App — Total active time in the app.

  • Conversion — Whether the session resulted in a completed order.

Wishlist

Products added to or removed from the customer's wishlist during this session.

Key Concepts

  • Read-Only — Session data is collected automatically and cannot be modified.

  • Anonymous Sessions — Guest users generate anonymous sessions. If they later log in, the session is retroactively linked to their profile.

  • Activity Tracking — Activities are logged in real time as customers interact with the app.

Tips

  • Review sessions for your top customers to understand their browsing patterns and preferences.

  • Look for sessions with high page views but no conversion — these customers may benefit from a targeted push notification.

  • Use session data to identify popular product discovery paths and optimize your app's navigation.

  • Check search queries to find products customers want but can't easily find.

FAQ

What counts as a new session? A new session starts each time the customer opens the app after it was fully closed or after a period of inactivity.

Are web sessions tracked? No. Only sessions within the BeyondCart mobile app are recorded.

Can I see session data for a specific customer? Yes. Navigate to the customer's profile and click the Sessions tab, or use the search bar on the Sessions list page.

What is an anonymous session? An anonymous session is one where the customer was not logged in. If they log in later, BeyondCart links the session to their profile.
